my art

A collection of recent visual experiements

My first touchpoint with art & creativity was like many kids from my generation – cartoons, children’s books, movies, sitcoms and of course, advertising. Growing up in L.A. during the 80’s and 90’s exposed me to so much of it and more. While sucking down pop-culture and falling in love with MTV, Robocop and all things animated, I was also being introduced to sub-cultures and new forms of creativity I never could’ve imagined. Graffiti art, Raves, Gutter punks, Skaters, Black and Chicano Gangs, Garage Bands, Battle Rap, Slam Dancing, Slam Poetry, high & low fashion… and the list goes on.

Needless to say, school was just a place to meet the likeminded and then plot our daily escape. Wherever our Chuck Taylor’s and skateboards could take us, was where we went. To paint the town, to hear new sounds, to build something new and cool.

Once the world told me I had to pay rent and feed myself, I turned to the only thing I knew how to do and that was art. It took a little while to find my niche, but I’m still learning and growing and forever inspired by the infinite well of beauty that is this world.
